The wait is over! Chaiiwala has officially landed at Birmingham Airport.
It is another momentous and historic moment for us as near that 100 mark of UK stores.
We firmly believe that our second airport location in just four months, is more than a café – it will become a vital part of the journey for all our customers.
Catching flights, especially with the family, can be a relatively stressful experience. Our management team has identified that we would like a presence in the major travel hubs in the UK to offer customers a better varied choice than the current offering but also to bring a food brand which many of our customers can resonate with.
Having a familiar food pit stop serving the all-day food options that Chaiiwala now offers, will now help make that journey just that little bit easier.
Imagine starting a journey knowing that on your way to the departure gate at any time, morning or there will be a warm Karak Chaii, an English-Ish or Desi Breakfast, or some crispy Masala Chips or Samosas waiting for you.
Or if you are in a rush – simply skip the line by ordering on your phone to enjoy a Karak Coffee with a chicken pastry and some Samosas while sat on your seat on the plane.
Muhummed Ibrahim, our Chief Executive Officer, reiterated the importance of the Birmingham Airport store to the overall vision of the Chaiiwala brand.
“Our aim is to bring an an ‘exceptional’ all-day pre-flight food experience,” he said.
The food options are also very important and we believe we have a really good all-day varied offering which give travellers at Birmingham Airport a really amazing choice.
“Our goal is to enhance the experience of our customers who are travelling by providing exceptional dining options and the addition of Chaiiwala to Birmingham Airport is a key part of that vision.”
And if you’re thinking this is just another airport snack spot, think again! With a stylish 1,100 sq. ft. space, comfy seating, and flight info boards in clear view, we’ve made sure your Chaiiwala experience is top-tier. You can find us right in the departures lounge, open from 3:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, so we’re here for both early risers and those catching the last flight out.
We’re working with our long-time pals at EG On The Move to bring you this deliciously fun experience. They’ve helped us launch Chaiiwala Drive Thrus in Bolton and Blackburn, and now they’re helping us take Chaiiwala to new heights (literally).
“Opening Chaiiwala at Birmingham Airport is a fantastic step forward in our strategy to give customers on move access to popular, high-quality foodservice brands.” said Junaid Manjra, Director of Retail & Foodservice at EG On The Move.
“Building on our successful roadside Chaiiwala concession network, this launch extends our strategic vision to offer transient roadside customers and travellers at travel hubs like airports and train stations, fresh and exciting foodservice choices, combining convenience with a quality food and drink experience.”
The new store will feature the full Chaiiwala menu and will operate approximately 17 hours a day between 3.00am and 10pm, catering to early-morning flyers and late-night travellers alike.
So where does that leave us? BHX was store number 97 and we are trying our best to hit the century mark before the end of the year with another store in Bradford and one more in the South Coast and possibly Sheffield.
But for now let’s enjoy store number 97 and another airport store to complement London Luton Airport (LLA).
Safe travels!
